A Female ‘Eclipse’ Style Birthday Card

Today, I am sharing the birthday card I made recently for my sister,
which I really enjoyed making. I love the effect of the partially stamped letters
set against the de-bossed background.
I found the design on Pinterest.
I started by drawing round the letter dies on a snippet of white card, and then
stamping each letter randomly with the peg dies (which I have had for many
years, which I bought individually at an Ally Pally craft fair), and the flower
stamp from the Stampin’ Up set, using three different coloured inks.

Next I die-cut the letters and mounted each one on foam. I then de-bossed the
card base and stamped the sentiment. After carefully positioning the letters
and adhering them to the card, I then added the ribbon and diamanté gems.
The products I have used are:-
Rubber Stamp Tapestry Wooden Peg stamps
Stampin’ Up - Itty Bitty Buds
Ranger Ink Letter It - Birthday
Crafts-Too Embossing Folder - Snowdrops
Alphabet dies - Brand unknown
Challenges entered:-
Arty Divas - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiment Designs - Spring is Coming
Shopping Our Stash - Happy Birthday
TTCRD - Anything Goes
Unicorn Challenge - Flower Power
Use Your Stuff - Spring
AAA Birthday - Flowers

  16. Janice! What a brilliant card and so clever to stamp the letters as you did - this truly is one to try for me. I have the MERRY letters, a Christmas script stamp in large (I hope!) and, like you some peg stamps. Mine are Christmas ones and I almost put them for sale recently so glad I didn't. Am wondering if you really de-bossed before stamping? I thought it might have looked a bit patchy but it's perfect. Love it!

    1. Anything can be done with the Misti, Di 👍 I’ve thought about selling my peg stamps before, but like you I’m glad I didn’t. Looking forward to seeing your Christmas make...enjoy!

  19. Love this card - a slightly different take on the eclipse technique from the one I tried originally and found very fiddly. This appears to be more straightforward - good for using up snippets and I'm sure to have some teeny stamps in my stash
