Apologies to you....

....for being an absent blogger just recently.

I have been taking care of my husband who has been poorly for the last few weeks.
Sadly, he passed away very peacefully last Wednesday evening.

Although I knew this was going to be the outcome one day from his illness,
it has all happened very quickly.
I have lost my best friend of 40 years, who I was married to for 36 years.
I consider myself very fortunate to have spent so many years together with a wonderful
man, and I have many happy memories to look back on of our life together.

I still have some things to arrange, but I know I will soon be returning to
my craft room to keep myself occupied, as I know crafting is a wonderful
hobby to help at this time.

I also look forward to looking at your lovely blogs again and leaving comments
on your crafty makes.

Hello Sunshine!

Today, I am sharing my latest design team card
made for the Dies R Us Inspirational Blog.

I started by embossing a 7"x 5" card base with a Darice Honeycomb Background embossing folder.

Next, using the Lawn Fawn - Spring Showers die set, I cut the clouds and sun in white card, colouring the sun and edging the clouds with Promakers.

I generated the word 'sunshine' on my computer, then I used the smallest die from the
Sue Wilson Designs - Frames and Tags - Pierced Flags, to cut the flag.

For the larger yellow one, I used the middle die and white card, which I coloured with a Promarker.

Next I die cut the 'hello' from the My Favourite Things, Die-Namics 'Hello There' die set.
I was lucky enough to win this set from a snippets challenge that Di runs over at
 Pixie's Crafty Workshop

Lastly I added silk flowers from my stash, sequins and diamante gems to decorate.

A Gilding Flakes Birthday Card

Today I am sharing my latest design team card
made for the Dies R Us Inspirational Blog.

This is a birthday card using some beautifully coloured gilding flakes
and the Sue Wilson Designs - Striplet/Stacked Diamond.

I started by placing the inner die from the set onto a rectangle of cream hammered
card and ran it through my die cutting machine.
Next I placed the outer die around the stacked diamonds, secured with low tack tape and
embossed it through my die cutting machine.

To give this effect....

Using 'Variegated Red' Gilding Flakes, I covered a smaller panel of card with a piece
of double sided adhesive sheet, covered with gilding flakes and burnished,
to place behind the diamonds.

Using strong double sided tape, I attached this panel behind the diamonds,
and then matt and layered it onto some orange card and gold mirri card.

Lastly, I attached this to the base card, stamped the sentiment and added the nail heads.

Here is the die set I have used:-
Other products used:-
Inkylicious Twinchie Stamp - Happy Birthday
Crafty Notions Gilding Flakes - Variegated Red
Josy Rose Nail Heads which you can find HERE
Hougie Board

Challenges entered:-
