Merry Christmas

Today, I am sharing a very quick and easy to make CAS card,
using snippets of papers and card from my stash.

I found some leftover pieces of papers and glued them to lightweight white card,
When dry, I used the square punch to make the presents, edging each one
 with a blue Promarker.

Using 3D foam pads, I positioned the presents on the embossed card base.
I die-cut three bows in the silver mirror card, trimmed them to size and
glued them to the squares.

Lastly I added the peel-off sentiment.

The products I have used are:
Woodware punch - medium square
Memory Box - Crisp Bows
Embossing folder - Brand unknown
Stampin' Up - Word Window punch
DCWV - The Christmas Printed Paper Pack
Promarkers

I am entering this card into

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas.

A Handmade Doorstop

Today, I am sharing a doorstop I made recently for a friend for her kitchen door.
I used some upholstery fabric, this one used for blinds which was kindly donated
to me along with other fabrics by a neighbour before they moved house.

You can find the first one I made two years ago HERE
The zip is is the base and I used cat litter (in zip-lock bags) and wadding
 to fill the inside.

The handle on the top makes it easy to move when needed.

I met my friend for lunch in London last month, the first time in
18 months. She was really pleased with it.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

cut down to 10" x 6.6"

After scoring and folding, I used double sided tape to complete the cracker.
I am using it as a gift box for Christmas, so after inserting the present,
I added a die-cut circle at each end to cover the inside of the cracker.

card snowflakes.

Birthday Card for my Nephew

Here is the birthday card I made for my nephew last month.
I came across the idea for the design on Pinterest.

Going through my snippets box of design papers and card,
I found two pieces of blue paper and glued them to some
light weight card. I then edged them both with a blue Promarker.

The darker piece I glued directly onto the card base, and I used 3D
foam on the striped piece.

I stamped the sentiment using one of the stamps from the
Woodware - Francoise Read 'Made for You' set onto white card,
cutting a banner tail end on one side.

I also edged it with the Promarker, then glued that onto the front
and added a couple of enamel dots to finish.

Birthday Card for my Nephew

Today's card is one I made for my nephew earlier this month, using snippets of
paper and card from my ever growing stash!

I found the idea for this card on Pinterest.

I made the 7"x5" card base using a stone coloured A4 sheet of card.
Next I embossed a smaller piece of brown card with the textured
embossing folder and glued it to the card base.

Using 4 snippets of design papers which I glued to some lightweight card,
I die-cut them with a set of stitched banner dies.

Next, I used a piece of the stone card and die-cut the sentiment banner
with one of the set of Creative Expressions (Sue Wilson) Pierced Flags
from the Frames and Tags set.

Lastly I added the Presscut Happy Birthday and some small circles
punched with an EK Success punch.

A Crocheted Baby Blanket for my Great Niece

Today, I am sharing a crocheted baby blanket I made for my new great niece
who arrived last week. Luckily my niece knew she was expecting a baby girl,
so I had plenty of time to make it before she arrived.
,
I had seen lots of blankets made using the ‘Waffle’ stitch when looking
online for ideas. I really liked the pattern this stitch created, so I decided to give
it a try following the Bella Crochet tutorial on YouTube.
It crocheted up fairly quickly and is definitely a good stitch to do
whilst watching the television.

I finished the blanket by adding a border of treble crochet stitches in white,
and a row of double crochet in pink. I then wrapped it with a pretty
crocheted blanket tie.
I purchased the yarn online from Wool Box who have great prices on
their yarns and provide a very fast delivery service.

I used five 100g balls of Sirdar Hayfield Baby Bonus DK, three in
'Baby Pink' and two in 'Baby White'
