A Crocheted Throw/Blanket for my Great Niece

I am back today sharing the crocheted throw/blanket I made for one of my great
nieces for Christmas.
The one I made for her sister can be found HERE

For this one, I used the same pattern as the one I made HERE, which is
based on the Infinity Scarf pattern designed by the talented Melanie Ham,
who sadly passed away last month, aged 37.

I watched many of Melanie's YouTube tutorials during the first lockdown two
years ago, when I taught myself to crochet. I know I will use many more of her
patterns in the future too. She was a really talented sewer and crocheter
with a huge following.

The pattern is crocheted rows of the V Stitch.
I bought the yarn online from The Wool Box
and used eight 100g balls of Stylecraft Special DK in the colour ‘Lavender’

A Crocheted Throw Blanket for my Niece

Today, I am sharing a crocheted throw blanket I made my niece for her
40th birthday. I'm pleased to say she loved it.

My plan was for her to start using it late September/October time, when the
weather starts getting cooler, but she's told me that she's used it already,!

I adapted the pattern which I used HERE to make the Infinity scarf.
The pattern consists of just the V Stitch.

I first decided how wide I wanted the throw to be, and then crocheted rows
of the same stitch.

I finished it by adding a small border of double and treble crochet stitches
and then wrapped it with a pretty crocheted blanket tie.

I purchased the yarn online from The CheapShop, Tiptree, Essex.
I used eight 100g balls of Stylecraft Special DK in the colour ‘Spearmint’

Thank you for visiting my blog today.
