Birthday Card for my Nephew

Today's card is one I made for my nephew for his birthday which was
just before Christmas.

He is a West Ham United football supporter, so I made the
card in the team colours of claret and blue.

I partially embossed the blue card using the football embossing folder
and added the scored lines using my Hougie board.
I mat and layered it to the claret card and glued it to the card base.
I die-cut the sentiment three times in the claret card, glued them
together to give some dimension.
To finish, I added some hand made card candi.

The products I have used are:
Crafters Companion Embossing folder - Football Crazy
Happy Birthday die - Brand unknown
Hand made card candi
Hougi Board

I was due to post my Design Team card today for the My Time to Craft Challenge,
but sadly Shell has made the difficult decision to close the challenges for the
next 6 months. You can read her post HERE

Hopefully it’ll be back up and running again in August.

A Crocheted Throw/Blanket

Today, I am sharing a crocheted throw blanket I made for one of my great
nieces for Christmas.

I decided to make it for her after she saw the one I made her Mum which
you can see HERE and liked 'borrowing'!

I used the Primrose stitch which I found HERE on
'Sarah's Rich Textures Crochet' YouTube channel.

I started by deciding how wide I wanted the throw to be, then crocheted
rows of the same stitch until I reached the desired length.

I finished by crocheting a border of two rows of half trebles.

I bought the yarn online from The Wool Box
using seven 100g balls of Stylecraft Special DK in the colour ‘Pale Rose’

I will share the one I made her sister next week.

Football Themed Birthday Card

Today, I am sharing the birthday card I made for one of my great nephews who
was eight last month.

He loves everything to do with dinosaurs but as he also loves playing football,
I thought I would make him a football themed card for a change, using some
snippets of black and white card from my stash.
I started by matting the square piece of embossed football card
onto black card and glued it directly onto the card base.

I die-cut the football border, twice in white card which I glued together,
and once with black card. After glueing it onto the football panel, I
paper pieced the black parts into the footballs.

Lastly I added the sentiment, number, alphabet tiles and punched circles.

The products I have used are:
Crafters Companion Embossing folder - Football Crazy
Card Deco - Happy Birthday
EK success punch- Small circle
Football border, number and alphabet tiles - Brands unknown

I am entering this card into Snippets Playground ‘Anything Goes’ challenge #419
Di has set up a new challenge blog for using snippets which can be found HERE
