Something a little bit different from my usual cards...

On Friday, I spent a lovely day with a friend, learning how to
'Napkin Decoupage' a wooden bowl.
We came across this idea when visiting the Country Living Spring Fair in April,
and booked ourselves onto a day's course with Heather who owns
Fine Lines Quality Crafting. Her Facebook page can be found HERE

The course was held in Heather's home in Essex, where we joined
three other ladies.

Heather has an amazing selection of paper napkins to choose from, and this
is the one I picked out to use on my bowl...
...and here is my finished bowl!
The process involves painting the bowl first with Annie Sloan chalk paint.
Whilst waiting for it to dry, we practiced the napkin technique on a small board.

Then we prepared the 3 ply napkins, removing the 2 under layers

to leave the pattern sheet. After carefully tearing lots of the poppies,
I started glue-ing them in position, speed drying the glue with a hair dryer,
then varnishing. I still need to apply two more coats of varnish, but am certainly
pleased with my first attempt.
It was a lovely day doing something completely different.

on
her Facebook page HERE

I won the Swirl Lattice Panel die which is just gorgeous and can be found in the

Firstly, I covered the front of the card with some vintage floral paper.

A Birthday Card for another Great Niece!

We have a bit of a run on family birthdays in May and June, so today I am sharing
the card I made for another one of my great nieces who celebrated her birthday yesterday.
I started by making the card base using the largest scalloped bunting
die and cutting two pieces of white card. I glued them together at the top.
After die-cutting a piece of patterned paper with one of the straight bunting dies,

I matted it onto the blue card and cut by hand.
Next, I die cut the number and letters with blue card and also craft foam

sheets which I glued together to give a little bit of depth.

The products I have used are:-
Docrafts Xcut Large Nesting Dies - Bunting and Scalloped Bunting
Letters and Number Dies - Purchased from eBay
Challenges entered:-
Pixie's Snippets Playground - Anything Goes
