Drawstring Bags

Today, I am sharing my latest sewing project of two drawstring bags, which I have made
to use as dirty laundry bags for holidays. They could also be used to protect shoes or
handbags when packed in the suitcase.
When I attended Claire's classes at Beautiful Things earlier this year, she recommended
a very clever way of buying fabric to practise on, which is to buy a duvet set that has
been reduced in the sales. They can easily be cut up and used for this, and of course
for making other projects.

I found this set in Asda's (Walmart for my U.S. followers) which was reduced to £6.

There are plenty of instructions on YouTube on how to make the bags, so I made
two in different sizes, both only using just one side of a pillowcase.

Luckily, two of my nieces and my friend have also just started sewing,
so perhaps they would like some of the duvet cover to practise on!

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

  6. Oh those are awesome, well done! I like that she passed along that tip to buy mark downed items to transform. Really cool!
