After making one of these tea bag holders for my friend a few month’s ago,
which you can see HERE, she asked if I could make another for one for
one of her tea drinking friends.
These are really handy to keep in your handbag to use when out and about.
I used a free YouTube tutorial from Claire at Beautiful Things
which can be found HERE
The fabrics I used were Aldi fat quarters.
Hand crafted cards and sewing projects made for friends, family, bespoke requests and challenges!

A Crocheted Infinity Scarf
Moving on from teaching myself to crochet pumpkins which you can find HERE
(if you haven't seen them already), I set about trying to find myself something
a bit bigger to make, which would still be good for beginners.
I found THIS infinity scarf on YouTube, designed by Melanie Ham.
I knew that crochet stitch names differ between the U.K. and the U.S but this
pattern used only one type of stitch, so it was manageable for me.
After calculating how much yarn I needed, I bought it online
from The CheapShop in Tiptree, Essex.
the Batik Elements Double Knit range made by Stylecraft.
I also used crochet hook size 5mm.
Melanie's instructions are very clear and easy to follow, and
it was really useful to be able to pause the video as and when you need to.
I'm pleased to say it didn't take me too long to complete, so I started making
another one straightaway, using the 'Platinum' shade which I bought at the
same time. I really love the colour combinations of this yarn.
I am definitely enjoying this new hobby in Lockdown 2.0, and will be
looking for more projects to make.

Crocheted Pumpkins
I taught myself to crochet just over 40 years ago when my sister was expecting my first nephew. I could already knit and thought it would be nice to crochet clothes for him as well.
Sadly, I only managed a make one matinee jacket (do babies wear those anymore?) which seemed to take me ages to crochet, so I quickly decided it wasn’t for me and gave up. Knitting was certainly much quicker and easier for me, and would enable me to make all sorts of clothes for him.
Fast forward to this year, when I decided to give it another try. I found some pink wool I had from making pom-poms with my great nieces. I bought myself a crochet hook, watched Bella Coco Crochet tutorials on YouTube, and practiced the different stitches and made a couple of Granny squares.
