Wedding Card

I was asked by friend if I could make a wedding card for her to give

to her niece and husband.
I kept it clean and simple adding some diamante gems at the end

to give it some sparkle.

2nd card from the Julie Hickey Workshop

Today, I am sharing the second card I made last month at the Julie Hickey workshop.
You can find my first card HERE

Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the paper pack Julie supplied us with,

but the layout she used on her card as an example, is a great way to use 

up scraps of paper.

Julie provided everyone with an envelope of nine squares, plus a topper and

spare paper to cut various shapes out of. We were then left to use them as we wanted.

I inked the edges of the squares with distress ink and glued them to the card base.

I then attached the topper at an angle, using 3D foam pads and the 

flower and butterflies.

I forgot a friend's birthday, so I sent it to her as a belated birthday card.

Female Birthday Card

I recently attended an all day card-making work shop run by two crafting friends. 

It's a popular, fun day to attend, where we make approximately 10 cards,
chat and craft in between eating home made cake and lunch!

Today I am sharing one of the cards I made, which I gave to my
next door neighbour for her birthday.

We used Distress inks and the negative of the leaf die to create the background panel. 

Then we stamped leaves randomly across the panel.

Next, after colouring in the die-cut leaf, I matt and layered the panel, 

stamped the sentiment and added two leaves punched from inked paper which 

were supplied to us.

These gorgeous set of papers make for a very quick cards.

I matted and layered the paper onto black and blue card, added the

Julie Hickey Workshop

Last month, I was lucky enough to attend a Julie Hickey workshop,
 which was held in a local church hall in Essex.

We made three lovely cards and a decorated wooden 'Love' plaque, 

all using her new stamps.

Today I am sharing the first of the cards I made, where we

used Ranger Distress Oxide inks to make the backing papers before stamping,
and fussy cut the flowers, leaves and circles.

The stamp set we used for the first card was designed by Julie, 

called Friendship Blooms and can be purchased from 

Crafts U Love 

Julie very kindly signed her books which I cheekily took along with me.
I bought them in 2004/5, when I first started making cards, and watching Julie

 demonstrate at the Ally Pally shows in London.

It was a lovely, relaxing day spent with other crafting ladies where I learnt

a few new inking and stamping techniques, along with lots of hints and tips from Julie.
She is such a warm friendly person, and makes crafting fun.

Hopefully she'll return to Essex again later in the year
for another workshop.

Anniversary Card

Today's card is one I was asked to make by a friend to give to her husband.

The dies I used are unbranded and the sentiment was generated on the computer.

I used my Hougie board to score the frame lines.

Birthday Card for a Golfer

Today's card is one I made recently for a golf loving friend for his birthday.

The golf bag was easy to make as I cut it as a whole in silver mirror card, 

then cut the bag in red and glued to the silver. Next I cut the bag in black and yellow, 

and glued the pieces of card into the gaps.
